Information for participants

The STI2024 conference will take place in two adjacent buildings: Fraunhofer Forum Berlin, Anna-Louisa-Karsch-Strasse 2 and Humboldt University Berlin's School of Business and Economomics, Spandauer Str. 1.

We will be taking photos and making video recordings during our event. It is possible that you may be recognized in these images and recordings. If you do not want your voice or image to be recorded, please inform the person who takes your picture accordingly. We take these photos and make video recordings to document our event in pictures and report on our event during and after it. To this end, we will publish these images and recordings in particular on social media platforms (such as LinkedIn, Bluesky, and our own website).

Identical lunch buffets and amenities during the coffee breaks will be served in both conference venues. Please take lunch in the venue of the last session you attended.

The auditorium and one seminar room are located in the Humboldt University, three seminar rooms (Lumen, Lux, Spektrum) as well as two smaller rooms (Prisma, Spree) are located in the Fraunhofer Forum.

Internet access will be available. In both venues "eduroam" is available for those who have access to this network via their organization. In addition, alternative access options (guest networks) will be offered in both venues. You will find signs for log-in details at the venue.

The program might be subject to updates throughout the week. You can access a PDF-version of the program via the STI website (https://sti2024.org/sti-conference/program/) or you can use the app Lineupr, which you can find here: https://sti2024.lineupr.com/sti2024
Lineupr does not require registration and use is free of charge. It can be accessed by mobile devices or by your laptop.

Unfortunately we cannot provide supervised luggage storage or coat-check. As such, any luggage brought to the venue is at your own risk.

Special events

The events you have registered for are noted on your name badge. Please be aware that only participants who have registered for those events may take part in them.

On Tuesday at 17.00 the Garfield Memorial Lecture will be held by Lutz Bornmann at Fraunhofer Forum in the room "Spektrum". The title of his lecture is "Investigating the Relationship of Science and Society Based on Scientometric Data: A Lecture Based on Exemplary Studies." A registration for this event is not required.

The STI reception will immediately follow the Lecture in the Fraunhofer Forum. The Fraunhofer Forum has a capacity of 170 visitors due to safety regulations. As these events are at capacity, unfortunately you cannot register for these events on-site.

Guided tours of exhibitions at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin
During the conference dinner, we will offer guided tours by professional tour guides of the Naturkundemuseum (Natural History Museum) to two exhibitions. There will be tours starting at the entrance to the main hall at 19.15, 19.30, 20.15 and 20.30. A tour takes about 1h. The two special exhibitions are "Dinosaurs!" (incl. the T-Rex skeleton) and "Evolution in Action". The tours are free of charge and additional registration is not required, beyond having registered for the conference dinner.
